Hello Lincoln Street families,

I’m Sommer Grooms, and I have the privilege of serving as the Principal of Lincoln Street School. I’ve been in education for 13 years, teaching in both traditional and alternative settings, and I’m deeply passionate about the parent-as-teacher model. I believe parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and my role is to come alongside you with resources, encouragement, and guidance so that your child can thrive. I earned both my teaching and administrative credentials, as well as my Master’s in Education, from Simpson University, and I am currently a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at Liberty University.

 

In addition to my work in education, I am a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, and I bring the same dedication, discipline, and commitment to service into my leadership here at Lincoln Street. My academic background, combined with years of hands-on experience, has strengthened my commitment to building strong partnerships between families and schools. Our team is here to support you with flexible, engaging curriculum options, enrichment opportunities, and the personalized attention your child deserves. Outside of school, I enjoy taking on creative projects at home and finding new ways to bring that same creativity and joy into my leadership. Student growth, curiosity, and success are always at the center of what we do. I’m looking forward to working together to make this year one of growth, discovery, and joy for your family.
